Online Tutoring

Dear Student / Parent,

I am happy to announce that I now offer online tutoring using a state-of-the-art online tutoring platform. This platform allows both the student and the teacher to write on the SAME virtual whiteboard while being miles away from each other!

You or your child will be able to do the following:

• Hand-write his or her solutions
• Ask questions
• Upload assignments from the teacher/professor
• Take pictures of and post textbook problems

As a teacher I will do the following:

• Teach the subject matter in the same way I always do: with illustrations, colorful drawings, thorough explanations and full formula derivations
• Post problems
• Correct your child’s mistakes, if any, and provide feedback
• Write my own solutions

You may ask:  What will I need for online tutoring? The requirements are:  1) iPad or a similar device that supports digital writing, 2) Stylus pen compatible with your iPad (Apple pencil is strongly recommended), and 3) Laptop or PC to use as additional whiteboard space.

MY APPROACH TO TEACHING

In addition to my undergraduate and graduate education at Cornell and Princeton Universities, I am certified as a Teacher of Chemistry and Physical Science by NJ Department of Education. I have worked as a teacher of Regular and Advanced Placement Chemistry at Cedar Grove High School in Cedar Grove, NJ, as a Teaching Assistant in the General Chemistry course at Princeton University and as a Chemist at L’Oreal Skincare Labs in Clark, NJ.

My approach to teaching is to actively involve the student in every stage of the problem. Be it initial setup, gathering and understanding data, applying concepts and formulas or figuring out units – you or your child will have a leading role in performing these tasks. My teaching method is interactive:  I let the student figure out solution by asking leading questions, drawing analogies and providing additional hints if such help is needed.

Whether you are a college freshman seeking help with General Chemistry, a high school junior struggling with AP Chemistry or AP Physics, or if you simply need practice and additional insight into the subject matter, go ahead and call me.  I will answer your questions, teach you the fundamentals, and provide direction in your study.

Many of my students achieve 5 on the AP Chemistry and AP Physics Exams and score above 750 on the SAT in Chemistry. I teach fundamental concepts in a clear and interactive way, minimizing memorization and drawing on examples from real life whenever possible. Our lessons will be enjoyable and your confidence will increase as you learn to master Chemistry, physics and math.
